Over the years, our client has specialised in the transport of yachts and successfully applies this expertise within the commercial sector.
Our client is one of the largest shipping companies in the Netherlands. Their head office is in Amsterdam.
As an Operations Engineer, you are responsible for all engineering activities. You assess whether transport requests are technically feasible in terms of stability, load spreading and lifting possibilities. You work closely with Project Managers and Loadmasters to support the projects from the engineering perspective, ensuring that we develop transport solutions that are both cost-effective and efficient.
What challenges can you expect:
Lack of technical specifications for the cargo;
Often limited time available to make decisions;
Working with various materials such as wood, FRP, GRP, aluminium and steel;
Complex transport solutions using in-house developed lifting, lashing/securing and support solutions;
Possible involvement in R&D projects related to yacht transport.
Your profile:
A higher professional (HBO) education in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering;
At least two years of relevant work experience;
Experience with heavy lifting operations, cranes (LO-LO) and/or semi-submersible vessels (Flo-Flo) is an advantage;
Experience with yacht builders or yacht design and engineering is an advantage;
Experience working with AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks and FEMAP;
You are flexible, solution-oriented and accurate;
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing in Dutch and English.
