For one of our clients in the offshore transport and installation industry, we are looking for a Barge Engineer.

Our client is a world-leading offshore construction company, specializing in transporting, installing, and removing offshore energy infrastructure. With a strong focus on innovation, safety, and sustainability, they complex projects for the offshore energy industry using one their specialized fleet of heavy lift vessels.

As a Barge Engineer, you are the technical heartbeat of the offshore operations. You ensure the barges are technically sound, seaworthy, and ready for action: transporting massive structures in complex marine environments. Your expertise keeps the mission moving safely and efficiently, making you an essential part of every successful project.
 
Responsibilities

  • Prepare barges for seaworthiness and operational readiness and executes standard ballast and de-ballasting operations during load‑outs, launchings, float overs, lift‑offs and tow‑outs.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on structural, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, escalating complex issues when needed.
  • Facilitate & supports Client, Flag, Class and Port State inspections and assists with documentation and compliance activities.
  • Contribute to repair, maintenance and barge modification work in coordination with Equipment Management.
  • Ensure consistent application of company work instructions, safety procedures and regulatory standards.

You will work at the Flushing yard and occasionally at yards abroad or offshore near one of our crane vessels, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

  • Engineer STCW certificate of Competence A-III/1 (Engineer level II)
  • Minimum of 5 years of offshore work experience
  • Technical Mastery , a solid foundation in maritime systems, ballast control, and offshore maintenance ensures you can manage complex barge operations with confidence and precision.
