For one of our clients in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry we are looking for a Drilling Advisor / Senior Well Engineer.
In general:
- Update and further develop the Well Engineering Management System (WEMS).
- Develop well engineering and process flow charts in Well Atlas (or similar software).
- Develop well engineering policies, standards, procedure and guidelines in accordance with current industry practices and NL and UK regulations.
- Liaise and collaborate in an interdisciplinary team to further develop the Business Management System.
- Transfer knowledge of industry standards to other well engineers within the Drilling and Well Services Department.
- Support the Well Engineering Team Lead with preparation of statutory submissions to regulatory authorities in UK and NL.
- Support the Well Engineering Team Lead with reviews of drilling, P&A and well intervention programs.
- Advise the D&WS team on latest accepted engineering practices and design codes, (e.g. API, AADE, IADC, NORSOK, ISO, NOGEPA, OGA UK, Element-NL, DNV) to ensure well integrity and safe completion practices.
Generic HSE responsibilities:
- Compliance to WINZ’s HSE policies and procedures.
- Ensure all incidents are reported timely to relevant staff.
- Proactive involvement in the development of risk assessments and risk control measures concerning workplace and environmental issues.
- Engage all relevant departments in development of work plans and consider alternative solutions with less impact on HSE and/or lower risk in your field of expertise.
Requirements
Educational level:
- Master of Science in Petroleum / Mechanical Engineering or other relevant education.
Years of experience:
- Minimum 15 years well engineering and operations experience of which minimum 2 years well site operations in UK/NL, preferably with oil and gas operators.
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge and excellent understanding of applicable government rules and regulations specifically from NL and UK.
- Knowledge and experience with development of a WEMS.
- Knowledge of the most common industry practices.
- Knowledge of NL and UK regulations.
- Knowledge and experience from well engineering processes, procedures and guidelines from reputable oil and gas operators.
Skills:
- Profound writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English oral and written.
- Ability to work independently and within a (multidisciplinary) team
