QC Welding Engineer

For one of our clients in the energy transition industry, we are looking for a QC Welding Engineer.

Our client is a global engineering and technology company that specializes in large-scale energy and industrial infrastructure projects. It provides services including engineering, procurement, construction, and project management, with strong expertise in liquefied natural gas (LNG), petrochemicals, hydrogen, and carbon capture solutions. The organization plays a key role in supporting both conventional energy developments and lower-carbon technologies as part of the global energy transition.

The work comprehends following:
1)     Preparing Inspection Test Plans for various equipment
2)     Review of Suppliers’ QCP, Welding documents and procedures such as NDT and PWHT.
3)     Coordinate inspections with agencies as per received invitations.
4)     Focal point for Suppliers regarding QC related issues (e.g. non-conformities).
5)     Provide instructions to local inspectors.
6)     Perform Pre-Inspection Meetings (via Teams or shop visit – globally).
7)     Perform inspections (globally, usually few days or max. 1 week per visit).
8)     Attend internal meetings such as QC meetings and project meetings.
 
It is a preference if the QC Engineer has experience by working as a QC Engineer at an engineering company and/ or as vendor inspector for mechanical equipment (and other commodities).
 
Required qualifications: 
·       Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
·       Certified Welding Engineer or Welding Technologist (IWE/ IWT)
·       Able to review welding books according ASME IX.
·       Experience with Quality Control on mechanical equipment
·       Familiar with ASME codes and PED
·       >= 8 years’ experience in similar function 
·       Willing to travel (although mainly home office job)
 
Preferably knowledge of:
– EN/ ISO/ API standards
– Materials (low – and high alloys) and heat treatment.
