For one of our clients in the Offshore Transport & Installation we are looking for a Project Engineer – Heavy Lift Engineering.

Offshore wind is growing fast. The Netherlands is leading the way, pledging 21 GW of offshore wind by the end of this decade. That’s 75 per cent of the current national electricity consumption. Energy from North Sea wind farms will play a key role. Operators are advancing plans for next generation offshore grid systems supported by supersized 2-GW converter stations. Massive units that require our unique transport and installation capacity! Our record-breaking heavy lift vessel Pioneering Spirit showcased her wind credentials in September, installing the entire 900-MW Kappa converter station for the DolWin6 offshore grid connection system in days. In the wake of the DolWin success, Pioneering Spirit is set to install a considerable number of converter stations in the coming years. Which is where you come in! They have exciting opportunities for pioneering Heavy Lift Engineers to help our client meet the demand for their transport and installation services.

As Project Engineer you will be part of a multi-disciplinary Agile team comprising creative Structural Engineers, Heavy Lift Engineers, Naval Architects and Draftsmen. The team drives concept development as well as basic and detailed engineering phases for the installation or removal of topsides and jacket structures up to 60,000 tonnes by our in-house developed single lift methodologies, installed on the biggest vessel in the world. This position suits candidates who are interested in doing things different than competition, in a strong engineering focussed organisation. From design and engineering, fabrication of innovative lifting tools and supports, preparation of procedures and manuals through to on-site support during yard and offshore execution, you will be involved in the entire engineering process. You Identify project goals and priorities and translate these into a clear plan for the team; Make sure the team delivers what is needed by interfacing with clients, subcontractors, project managers and various internal disciplines; Organise and maintain the team backlog containing the prioritised and detailed engineering deliverables; Keep track of progress and make decisions independently but in close consultation with stakeholders; Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring these are fit for purpose; Represent, support and inspire the team; Promote co-operation, transparency and adaptability with the aim to maximise the value of the product.
