Accountability

We are seeking a Project Engineer for a project in the Oil & Gas Industry.
Location: Antwerpen region, lopen to discuss partially working remotely

General

  • Implements the interests of the company and the policy defined by the management and the Project/Operations Manager in his/her job.
  • Develop / write method statements, offshore removal plans and offshore procedures.
  • Review reports and procedures
  • Supply engineering info for draughtsmen.
  • Project execution.
  • Prepare work packs and job cards.

Project preparation functions

  • Calculation and drawing offshore works for future and existing projects
  • Realization / Support of the technical aspects of prequalification files. 
  • Supply technical input and liaise with Procurement for purchase item, tools and services.
  • Contacts different subcontractors/suppliers when a substantial purchase is to be made.
  • Consults with internal supporting departments (Insurance, logistics, crewing, technical department) and also with the operational staff (Master, Heavy Lift Supervisor).
  • Set up of method statements, project specific risk assessments, the HSE-plan and the QA-plan.
  • Technical and operational and organizational preparation of projects.
  • Holds meetings with clients normally together with Project manager on a regular basis and files the report.
  • In case a Project Manager is appointed, the Project Engineer reports directly to him/her and assists in all aspects of the project preparation.
  • Prepares Bi-weekly reports and issues to the Project Manager for approval.
  • Review and update project specific HSE and QA plans and Risk Assessment.

Project execution functions

  • Follow-up of the HSE activities during the project. The Project Engineer can be assigned the function of HSE coordinator on site. This responsibility includes follow up of specific HSE items, incident reporting, etc.
  • Introduce the project procedures and check if the works are executed accordingly. When procedures are to be adjusted prepare management of change with required documentation.
  • Follow-up of the project with respect to kick-off meetings, daily progress, toolbox, allocation of personnel and equipment amongst others. Makes sure these meetings are recorded and filed.
  • Assist Project Manager/Operations Manager during project execution.
  • Prepares the daily reports.
  • In case a Project Manager is appointed, the Project Engineer reports directly to him/her and assists in all aspects of the project execution.

Financial

  • Assists Project Manager/Operations Manager when preparing client and subcontractor invoices. 
  • Assists preparation of statements of additional works, claims, etc.
  • Prepares prior to the execution of the works the Financial Project Reporting sheet which forms the basis of the budget control.

Contractual

  • Active role, as well as execution, in making sure that project works are performed in accordance with conditions of contract. 
  • Review of contract Scope of Work and planning.
  • Recording of deviations from contract or applicable legislation, including reporting to Project Manager/Operations Manager. 

Qualifications

  • Master Engineering Degree or equivalent by experience;
  • Fluent in English, written and verbally.
  • Result oriented, problem solving and flexible.
