For one of our clients in the offshore transport and installation industry, we are looking for a Second Engineer SSCV.

Our client is a world-leading offshore construction company, specializing in transporting, installing, and removing offshore energy infrastructure. With a strong focus on innovation, safety, and sustainability, they execute complex projects for the offshore energy industry using one their specialized fleet of heavy lift vessels.

Responsibilities
During your watch you are responsible for the safe and efficient inspection as well as maintenance of machinery and equipment in engine room spaces, accommodation, galley, deck and project related equipment and lifesaving equipment. You report defects and malfunctioning of systems, circuits, equipment and interrupt, without any hesitation, unsafe activities or conditions and report these. Furthermore you assist during construction activities by operating the pile driving hammers, pile handling tools, compressors, pumps and cargo barge ballast systems. You keep the engine room book updated, perform toolboxes, ensure a proper job and shift handover. As a last you supervise the technical (fleet) personnel on watch as well as new technical personnel and trainees.
 
Requirements
This position requires an Engineer with a Vocational or Bachelor Maritime degree (MAROF) or an equivalent maritime oriented technical degree. You have 2 to 5 years’ of experience as Engineer on board of an offshore vessel, a Dynamic Positioning operated vessel is an advantage. As a person you possess proven leadership skills, a practical, problem solving, result oriented mindset and are a team player. Your command of the English, both written and spoken, is excellent.

Our clients operates on a standard 5 weeks on / 5 weeks off schedule.
