Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) specializes in the engineering and fabrication of large and complex structures for the offshore oil & gas and energy-related industries. HFG offers a comprehensive range of services, including initial conception, front-end engineering, detailed fabrication design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
With three large fabrication facilities situated around the North Sea, a workshop facility in Poland and a multi-disciplined engineering company in the Netherlands, HFG has facilities to design and build large constructions in controlled conditions.
Two of the last big projects we cooperated on :
At the end of 2012 Talisman Sinopec awarded Heerema Fabrication Group the Approved for Construction contract for the Montrose Bridge Linked Platform. The construction of the topside started in March 2013 at the Zwijndrecht yard and was completed within three years. The Montrose BLP topside contains a lot of functionality considering the size of the module. As a result the topside is overfull which made construction completion and alignment between the various disciplines a great challenge.
At the end of April 2016 the project will be ready for departure. Heerema Marine Contractors is responsible for both the transportation to the offshore location and the installation on site which will be performed with their crane vessel Thialf.
The Alba B3 project was awarded by Marathon E.G. in April 2013. The project is managed by Heerema Fabrication Group as main contractor and the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) scope was jointly executed with Iv-Oil & Gas. In addition to the EPC, HFG was also awarded the contract for the installation, commissioning and hook-up. The transport and installation was subcontracted to Heerema Marine Contractors.
In March 2014 the construction of the Alba B3 platform started and was executed at multiple sites across the world. Iv-Oil & Gas carried out the engineering work at their head office in Papendrecht as well as in Houston, USA. The topside, built at HFG’s Zwijndrecht yard, will compress the gas from the existing Alba field to the processing facilities on Bioko Island, in the Gulf of Guinea. The bridge, to connect the Alba B3 platform to the existing Alba B2 platform, and the flare were built by the local subcontractor ECG in Malabo. Beginning 2016 the Alba platform was installed by the Thialf in the Gulf of Guinea.
