Our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer within their Structural and Mechanical Department. This department is responsible for the (overall) design and engineering of heavy mechanical equipment, systems and components for offshore structures such as heavy lifting cranes, jack-ups, pipe lay systems and specialized equipment.

You are responsible for the design of mechanical equipment, -systems and setting technical priorities in all design phases of a project. This includes leading (operational) and supervising a design team of engineers and designers, initiating, supervising and checking the mechanical design, calculations and drawings. Planning and control of mechanical scope and interfacing with other disciplines (e.g. Structural, Naval) is part of your responsibility.

You need a Masters Bachelor degree (TU/HTS) in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with through knowledge of and proven experience in offshore mechanical systems. You are a technical specialist. Knowledge of FEM, frequency analysis and hydrodynamics would be an advantage. You are familiar with classification society rules (Lloyd’s, DnV and ABS) and design codes is also preferred.
