The Technical Superintendent works within the Technical Department. The Technical Department is a service entity and its objective is to support the vessels, tenders and projects in the best way possible and to manage the vessels technically in the most effective and cost-efficient manner.
Werkzaamheden
Organise and control of repair and maintenance (including damage repair, modifications, life elongating repairs etc.) of the assigned vessel(s);
Prevent downtime of the vessel(s), in the widest sense of the word;
Familiarise with the project specific operations to be able to contribute in operational discussions and decision making processes;
Provide the necessary requirements for safe operation of the vessels;
Verify that ISM requirement – vessel and TD are adhered to;
Follow up on audit reports timely;
Undertake the necessary steps in case of malfunctioning in close co-operation with the Vessel Manager, Vessel Management Team, and other relevant disciplines;
Familiarise with the applications in Oracle such as plant maintenance system and stock control;
Monitor and control the execution and administration of planned / corrective maintenance onboard;
Monitor of stock on board, control stock levels by identifying critical equipment and required spares;
Investigate possible reductions of costs and propose / implement these without affecting the uptime of the vessels;
Prepare detailed yearly budgets for repair and maintenance (R&M);
Prepare quarterly vessel reports including outstanding R&M works, ISM audit report statuses, budget control reports with information on actuals and differences;
Prepare detailed budgets for approval for repair periods, modifications and investments and control these during execution;
Follow up of damage claims in cooperation with Legal & Insurance Department;
Liaise with flag state and classification society as required;
Work preparations for (de)mobilisation periods, preparing detailed planning in close conjunction with Planning and Operations department;
Communicate with other disciplines within the Technical Department, and other departments;
Keep technical documentation and history about vessel(s) and equipment up to date

Profiel
BSc / MSc degree in Maritime Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
Minimum of 5 years as Ship Repair Manager at Ship Repair Yard or as Technical Superintendent within an offshore company, dredging company or merchant navy;
Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification agencies / IMO.
