The Quality Control (QC) Inspector works within the QC & Construction Welding Services Unit and is responsible for ensuring that all constructions and related structures manufactured for the specified standards before progressing to the next phase. The unit monitors the quality of structures and associated accessories manufactured, mainly in connection with pipelay contracts, and evaluates, prepares and supports the key construction activities performed in-house and by subcontractors, in accordance with commercial and investment project requirements. The QC Inspector reports to the Unit Head QC & Construction Welding Services.
Werkzaamheden
- Evaluate subcontractor fabrication procedures and inspection and test plans in consultation with the project team;
- Select coating yard and fabrication site inspection teams;
- Identify and qualify the welding methods required for project related structures including testing, documentation, client approval and third party verification;
- Provide technical input and cost estimates for welding methods, equipment and consumables required for project preparations and fabrication;
- Establish interfaces with QC teams at subcontractor and project offices;
- Monitor the performance and progress of subcontractor production;
- Assess performance of QC teams;
- Audit and review as-built data from subcontractors;
- Maintain administration associated with employment of QC personnel.

Profiel
- Minimum of MTS degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering;
- Additional certification in International Welding Technologist (IWT), International Welding Inspector (IWI), Non Destructive
- Testing (NDT), (CSWIP) 3.2 or equivalent is an advantage;
- 10 years experience performing inspections or supervising inspections;
- Extensive knowledge of fabrication and coating techniques;
- Familiarity with industry standard codes such as API, AWS, ASME, BS-EN and DNV;
- Familiarity with non destructive testing (NDT) such as ASNT and SNT-TC-1A;
- Experience of working within an ISO 9001 quality management environment;
- Team player with ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision;
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Willingness to travel;
- In possession of a driving licence.
