Opdrachtgever
The Manager Engineering is a key manager, as Engineering is vital in all the work we undertake. The manager maintains the engineering standards as set out in JMS and is always working on improving engineering capabilities which will provide with a competitive edge. The Manager Engineering reports and highlights critical activities to the Operations Manager the Manager Projects and/ or the Tender/Commercial Manager.

Werkzaamheden
- Ensure through delegation to team leaders the:
o planning of resources, based on work and projects in-hand and input from Tenders Department;
o assignment of Engineers and Draftsman to specific tasks;
o tracking of engineering progress and standards;
o verification and checking the work performed;
o hiring of temporary external support when and where required.
• maintain close contacts with other departments of the organization in order to develop technical synergy and compatibility in design and engineering methods;
• overall responsible for the correctness of the engineering reports and drawings;
• responsible for development and maintenance of (technical) software of own department;
• maintenance of the groups library and standards;
• proactive in maintaining STAY WELL in department but also outside the department;
• recruitment of department personnel;
• responsible for capability and expertise of manpower in the Engineering Department;
• set and monitor education plans for the department;
• report to Management team on regular basis

Profiel
• HBO / TU degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent;
• several years experience in a similar function;
• ability to lead teams of 30-50 people;
• affinity with Heavy Lift Shipping and with Offshore Installation;
• sound technical knowledge, ability to understand engineering;
• familiar with Quality Assurance in matrix type organization;
• ability to put lifting, transportation and installation engineering in company perspective;
• fully conversant in English (verbal and written);
• good communication skills;
• social team player with hands-on attitude;
• engaged manager who can bring his people to the next level;
• keen, analytical and able to set priorities within projects and between projects;
• Innovative and ready and able to change.
